BMKG Forecasts Most of Indonesia's Regions Will Be Cloudy to Rain with Strong Winds
JAKARTA - The BMKG issued an early warning in the form of the potential for light, moderate, and heavy rain, which may be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in various major cities in Indonesia on Saturday.
Quoting Antara, Prakirawan Diah Ayu explained that in general, the convergence area extends in the southern Arafuru Sea, South Papua, the west coast of the North Pacific Ocean of Halmahera Island and the Northwest Pacific Ocean of Papua.
This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth along the areas that are passed by convergence or confluence.
Therefore, his party estimates that several major cities will have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds, the Jakarta, Serang, Denpasar, Jayapura, and Merauke regions.
Meanwhile, several other major cities will experience light to moderate rain, namely Tanjung Pinang, Palembang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Tanjung Selor, Mataram, Kupang, Mamuju, Makassar, Kendari, Manokwari, Nabire, and Jayawijaya.
