Menekraf Tingkatkan Galeri Budaya untuk Modal Pembangunan Ekonomi Kreatif

JAKARTA - The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya encourages the Indonesian Chinese Cultural Gallery in PIK as a space for educating cultural values that not only describes the heritage of the past, but also becomes a strategic capital for the development of creative economy.

"Culture is the capital of the future. History, art, tradition, and living stories that are creatively processed are able to generate economic added value, open up space for innovation, and strengthen the competitiveness of creative activists," said Teuku Riefky, quoted by Antara.

This gallery presents an educational space and public interaction that records the history, resilience, and contributions of the Chinese community as an important part of Indonesian culture.

The Indonesian Chinese Cultural Gallery features thematic spaces that illustrate the dynamics of the Chinese community, from the arrival process, cross-generational experiences, to the practice of acculturation in social, economic, and cultural life. This curatorial approach strengthens the message of togetherness while enriching public understanding of diversity.

The Minister of Culture added that cultural galleries have a strategic role as an important node in building an inclusive and sustainable creative ecosystem.

"The values of acculturation, togetherness, and diversity displayed in spaces like this remind us that differences are a force that unites the nation while enriching the creative industry," he continued.

The presence of the Indonesian Chinese Cultural Gallery also opens up opportunities for cross-community, educational, and creative industry collaborations, as well as encouraging the birth of creative products based on cultural narratives, design, performing arts, and educational content. This gallery is expected to become a platform for intergenerational dialogue that is relevant to the current context.

CEO of Amantara Agung Sedayu Group Natalia Kusumo said the Indonesian Chinese Cultural Gallery is present as a space for educational history that is displayed innovatively, so that information is easy to understand.

"Inside there are animations, photos, readings, and also the most important experience is feeling the atmosphere when the ancestors of Indonesian citizens who are of Chinese origin," he said.

The Ministry of Culture encourages the use of cultural spaces as a means to develop various creative subsectors based on intellectual property, visitor experience, and curatorial innovation.

The integration of culture and creativity is believed to be able to expand the market, improve the quality of works, and strengthen national identity at the global level.
