Indonesia Remains Non-Aligned amid Trump's Lust for Greenland

JAKARTA - Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono emphasized Indonesia's stance of sticking to the non-bloc principle in responding to global geopolitical dynamics, including the United States' stance of wanting to acquire Greenland from Denmark.

This was conveyed by Foreign Minister Sugiono, in an interview session in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, in response to a question regarding Indonesia's position on the political tensions currently taking place in Greenland.

"The point is, we are in a non-aligned position. We are aware that the world is now very dynamic, but we must also remember that there are national interests that we must protect," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed that Indonesia consistently upholds the principles of global peace and stability.

According to him, these two things are the main prerequisites for the creation of world prosperity and the welfare of the international community.

In line with the statement of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that without stability and peace, it is difficult for the world to achieve a prosperous and just condition.

"Without stability, without peace, it is impossible to achieve a state in which the world is prosperous, in which the people are prosperous," he said.

Therefore, Indonesia will continue to encourage the creation of international peace and stability through diplomacy and global cooperation, said Sugiono.

"I think that's our position," said Foreign Minister Sugiono.
