PADI Reborn Presents a Different Concept for Two-Eight Concerts, Including a 360-Degree Stage

PADI Reborn will celebrate its musical journey for almost three decades through a solo performance titled "Concert Two Eight" which will be held at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Central Jakarta, Saturday, January 31 next week.

The Two Eight concert was so meaningful for this band from Surabaya. As the title suggests, PADI Reborn celebrates 28 years of its journey since 1997 and marks eight years since its return from a vacuum in 2017.

"This number 28 contains the number 8, which when turned upside down means infinity or continuous or uninterrupted," Piyu said at a press conference in Tomang, West Jakarta, Friday, January 23.

"And that is also the theme of our concert. Because later in our concert we will have a stage that is 360 degrees, so there is no break," he continued.

Later, Piyu along with other members - Fadly, Ari, Rindra, and Yoyo - will perform in a different performance concept from their many previous stages.

In collaboration with promoters Northstar Entertainment and Megapro Communications, and supported by Mata Elang Production, PADI Reborn will entertain PADI friends from a stage that can only be seen in the performances of world musicians when visiting Indonesia.

"Usually when we watch a concert there is a stage at the end, and the audience fills three-quarters of the venue capacity, but if this stage is in the middle, the audience can see and listen from various sides," said the guitarist.

"Later, the stage will also be filled with LEDs that will surround the stage. And on top of it there will also be LEDs that can move dynamically, can go up and down," he continued. "And what is even more special, later we will be spoiled by hydraulic choreography. So, later we will move dynamically, not just in one position."

Meanwhile, for the setlist to be displayed, Rindra said, PADI Reborn tried to meet the fans' request to bring hit songs without major changes. However, on the other hand, there are new elements that will be presented, including material from the upcoming new album, "Two Eight".

"For this concert it is complete. There are hit songs, there are songs that are rarely played, and songs from the album 'Two Eight'," said the bassist.

* SUBJUDICATE: Sal Priadi and Fanny Soegi are presented as collaborators "PADI Reborn does not appear alone. In an effort to present novelty, two names that are relatively much younger, Sal Priadi and Fanny Soegi, are presented to enliven this celebration.

"Why did we choose them? Because last year we made a single with Fanny Soegi. So, we're playing together again at this concert," said Ari. "And Sal Priadi, we really want to be able to show him at this concert. Because he is loved by young people, and also maybe by the old ones."

Furthermore, Yoyo revealed that the personnel - except Fadly - will later show their ability to play their respective instruments.

"Yesterday we prepared some, maybe not just songs, but there are some musical arrangements like that, so that Fadly has a chance to rest. So later I and Rindra can play around, or Piyu and Ari can also play around there," said the drummer.

With many new things being prepared, Fadly conveyed his hope that the concept that PADI Reborn and the promoter are trying to present can become the "best offering" for PADI friends who come.

"For me personally, for PADI as well, this concert is very special. Because after we were reborn, we released new songs that were really all new songs. And this Two Eight Concert is a milestone," said Fadly.

"Hopefully it can make PADI friends happy who have been with us for 28 years," he added. "This is not just an anniversary, but the term is also our thanksgiving to PADI friends."

For information, tickets for the Two Eight Concert are still available in limited quantities. Three ticket categories - VIP Tribune for IDR 1,250,000, Gold Tribune for IDR 750,000, and Festival for IDR 500,000 - can be purchased through Loket.com.
