WEF 2026 Davos: Prabowo Promotes Pro-Productivity Economy, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Jajaki US Digital Investment
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the direction of Indonesia's pro-people economic policy by emphasizing close collaboration between the government and the business world.
The message was conveyed by President Prabowo in his speech at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting at the Davos Congress Center, Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Airlangga said the President emphasized that social policies were not only oriented towards protection, but also had to have a direct impact on increasing national productivity.
"Social policies must increase productivity, and productivity must generate growth," said Airlangga in an official statement from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Friday, January 23.
In his speech, President Prabowo emphasized stability and peace as economic prerequisites.
"Peace and stability are the most valuable assets. Not a luxury, but the main condition for growth and shared prosperity," said the President.
On the sidelines of the forum, Airlangga held a meeting with US digital economy business actors at the Indonesia Pavilion as a follow-up to the Indonesia-US tariff negotiations. A number of companies that are being explored include Nvidia, Amazon Web Service, Docusign, Crowdstrike, and Cloudflare.
The discussion focused on data center investment opportunities, cyber security, and digital infrastructure.
From Indonesia, Nongsa Digital Park is present as the manager of the digital KEK in Batam.
On a separate agenda, Airlangga met with the Jordanian Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh to discuss the follow-up to the investment memorandum of understanding between Danantara Indonesia and the Jordan Investment Fund.
The meeting was attended by Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani and CIO Danantara Pandu Sjahrir.
A number of ministers from the Red and White Cabinet accompanied the President at WEF 2026, stressing that Indonesia's economic diplomacy is directed at concrete results.
