The Ministry of Transportation Reviews the Readiness of the Yogya-Bawen and Solo-Yogyakarta Toll Roads Ahead of Eid 2026

JAKARTA - Ahead of the Lebaran transportation period, the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Aan Suhanan reviewed the readiness of the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road and Solo-Yogyakarta Toll projects.

The review was carried out together with the President Director of PT Jasa Marga, the National Police Commissioner, and the President Director of Jasa Raharja, Friday, 23 Friday 2025. There are two points that are reviewed, namely the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Section 6 Bawen-Ambarawa and the Prambanan-Purwomartani section on the Solo-Yogyakarta Toll Road.

Aan said this activity was part of the government's preparations to anticipate a surge in community movement during the Lebaran homecoming and return flow.

"This is part of the preparation for welcoming the homecoming and return to Lebaran which is predicted to increase. Historically, Central Java and Yogyakarta are the favorite destinations. With the functionalization of this toll road, it will certainly be very helpful to the community," said Aan in an official statement, Friday, January 23.

According to Aan, the existence of the Yogyakarta-Bawen Section 6 and Solo-Yogyakarta Prambanan-Purwomartani functional toll roads opens up new access as well as an alternative route that can reduce traffic load on the Solo-Semarang Toll Road and arterial roads.

"This functional toll is very helpful because the flow load on the Solo-Semarang Toll Road is very dense. If this is functionalized, it will provide an alternative for people going to Magelang, Temanggung, and from Solo to Yogyakarta," he said.

However, Aan emphasized that safety aspects remained the top priority before the two toll roads were functionalized. He emphasized the importance of the readiness of traffic signs, street lighting, and mature traffic arrangements.

"We want to ensure that the facilities and infrastructure are ready. Safety is the main element and we will not operate functionally if the minimum standards for road safety are not met," he said.

Director General Aan is also optimistic that with the synergy between the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police Traffic Directorate, Jasa Marga, and Jasa Raharja, this year's Lebaran homecoming can run more safely and smoothly. Especially with the functionalization of the new Yogyakarta-Bawen and Solo-Yogyakarta toll roads to support the smooth mobility of the community.

"We hope that people's mobility during the Lebaran homecoming can take place more safely, smoothly, and safely," said Aan.

Meanwhile, PT Jasa Marga President Director Rivan Achmad Purwanto said that the progress of the Yogyakarta-Bawen Section 6 Toll Road had reached 90 percent, while the Solo-Yogyakarta Toll Road section Prambanan-Purwomartani had reached 95 percent. He is optimistic that both sections can be functional during Lebaran.

"We ensure that the Bawen-Ambarawa section is ready to be used functionally during Lebaran. For this Lebaran, a new section of the Solo-Purwomartani highway was also opened, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani, which is 100 km long, from Prambanan to Purwomartani,

Meanwhile, the National Police Deputy Chief, Inspector General Pol Agus Suryonugroho, admitted that he welcomed the plan to operate the two toll roads.

His party will prepare a traffic engineering scenario around the toll exit as a step to anticipate the density of vehicle traffic.

Similar support was conveyed by the President Director of Jasa Raharja Muhammad Awaluddin.

He assessed that the functional toll operation and traffic engineering that have been prepared can increase transportation safety and reduce the number of accidents and fatalities during the Lebaran transportation period.
