BPJT Dampingi Komisi V DPR Kunker ke Tol Serang–Panimbang, Begini Progres Terbarunya
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) continues to accelerate the completion of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road project which has a total length of 83.66 kilometers (km). Currently, the completion of the toll road is focused on Section 2 Rangkasbitung-Cileles and Section 3 Cileles-Panimbang.
Most recently, the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PU accompanied the working visit of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives to the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road section in Banten Province, Thursday, January 22.
The working visit was carried out to find out the progress of the National Strategic Project (PSN) and the role of toll road infrastructure in supporting regional connectivity and regional development in Banten Province.
Quoted from the official Instagram account @pupr_bpjt, Friday, January 23, the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road is a PSN that supports the development of the region and regional economic growth by crossing four administrative areas, namely the City of Serang, Serang Regency, Lebak Regency and Pandeglang Regency.
The construction of the toll road continues to show significant progress. It is known that the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road has three sections. The details, Section 1 Serang-Rangkasbitung along 26.5 kilometers (km) which has been operating since December 2021.
Then, the Rangkasbitung-Cileles section reached 24.17 km which is now 97.09 percent. Furthermore, the 3 Cileles-Panimbang section along 33 km which is now 73.68 percent.
"The working visit was carried out to ensure that the construction progress was on time and to identify and resolve various obstacles in the field through collaboration with related stakeholders," wrote the account.
The Secretary of the BPJT Ministry of PU Ni Komang said that the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road is expected not only to increase connectivity, but also to be able to encourage local economic growth.
"Including, through the development of rest areas as a center of economic activity and increasing the attractiveness of toll road users," he explained.
When it is completed, the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road will reduce the travel time from Serang to Rangkasbitung, which was previously around 50 minutes, to only 15-20 minutes.
Not only that, the journey from Serang to Tanjung Lesung can also be faster, from the original time of up to 4 hours, it can now be cut to 1.5-2 hours through the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road.
