Longsor Turap in Srengseh Sawah Jaksel, 1 House Filled with 5 Souls Affected
JAKARTA - A total of 20 joint officers are handling the temporary handling of the Kalibaru connecting channel (Phb), Jalan Johar RT 02/05, Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta (Jaksel).
"We are handling it temporarily until tonight," said the Commander of the South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Muhammad Nur, to reporters in Jakarta, Friday.
Nur said information about the landslide began to be received at 18.00 WIB.
The head of Srengseng Sawah Village, Sunardi, said that the landslide occurred due to heavy rain with a long time, causing the water discharge in the water channel to rise.
"So the water discharge continues to rise. Suddenly, when the weather is still raining, the five-meter-long slope immediately collapsed and covered part of the water flow," he said.
Sunardi explained that this landslide incident caused one house containing five people to be affected.
"We help save their belongings that enter the water channel. The debris of the pavement and the wall are also partially set aside, for further follow-up today," he said.
He said that residents affected by the landslide were in a safe condition. For the time being, they were placed in their neighbors' houses.
"We have coordinated with the Sub-Directorate of Natural Resources and Environment to help clean up. Then, we also coordinate with the Social Sub-Directorate to help alleviate their burden," he said.
BPBD DKI noted that currently there are 143 RT and 16 roads flooded.
