Mystery Of The Death Of COVID-19 Negative Patients In Singapore
JAKARTA - Salha Mesbee, Singapore's 15th COVID-19 patient died. His death is a question, because Mesbee has already tested negative. His daughter revealed Mesbee's story to Mediacorp News.
Previously, Salha (58) contracted COVID-19 after vacationing in Turkey with her husband on March 26. He died five days ago (30/4) after going through a long treatment. Salha is the youngest patient to die from COVID-19 in Singapore.
According to the narrative of her eldest child, Siti Noraisah Ali, a week before her mother's death, a doctor called her who said her mother had recovered from the corona virus. "Mama is confirmed to be free from COVID-19. Unfortunately, her body cannot survive," Noraisah (37) told Channel News Asia.
Noraisah said that even though she was free from COVID-19, her mother's condition continued to worsen. This is because the impact of a viral infection has reached the brain and there is little hope of recovery.
Noraisah's father and two brothers have also contracted COVID-19. They were all treated at the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. All three have been declared recovered and have been discharged earlier while Salha remains in intensive care after suffering complications.
According to Noraisah, her mother had no history of other diseases. "He was admitted to the intensive care unit because of weak lungs and low blood pressure. Then it spread to other organs such as his kidneys and heart," said Noraisah.
Hope had arisen when Mesbee was declared free of the corona virus. However, because of the complications he suffered, his life could not be helped anymore.
Because his mother has been declared virus-free, the family is allowed to bring home the body of the deceased to rest. "We are really worried that we will not be allowed to see him for the last time. Therefore we are very grateful. We are happy to be able to bring him home and carry out the burial ritual normally," explained Noraisah.
