2 Damkar Cars Deployed to Clean Mud from Flood Debris in Mataram NTB

Mataram - The Mataram City Fire and Rescue Service has deployed two fire trucks to clean up the mud from the flood in a number of road sections on the banks of the Jangkuk Mataram River, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.

Head of the Mataram City Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) H Rudi Suryawan said that the two damkar cars were lowered with 21 Damkarmat personnel.

"They are tasked with cleaning along the road on the banks of the Jangkuk River after the flood," he said in Mataram, Friday, quoted by Antara.

The cleaning of the road was carried out so that the road was sterile from the mud of the flood so that it could be safe and comfortable again for residents, both for those who drive and those who walk.

For today, he said, two teams were sent down to clean the road on the banks of the Jangkuk River in the Pejeruk Ampenan Village, and on the banks of the Jangkuk River in the Dasan Agung Village.

"For other locations, we have not yet received information from the public. We are also waiting for information from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)," he said.

According to him, the two fire trucks that were lowered had a water capacity of 5,000 liters. So the two cars that were lowered carried 10,000 liters of water to clean the road.

However, if the amount is less, the officers return to the office to fill the fire truck's tank. "For Pejeruk Village, until around 11.30 WITA, we have spent 15,000 liters of water," he said.

In addition to cleaning the road from the mud of the flood, continued Rudi, the Damkarmat team was also sent down to drain the water at SD 47 Ampenan which is located in Bintaro.

The suction was carried out because the school yard was flooded due to heavy rainfall and river water overflow because the school yard was lower than the road.

Previously, said Rudi, a suction had been carried out at one of the Children's Parks (TK) in Mataram City.

"In addition to spraying water to clean the mud, putting out the fire, our officers also suck water. Anyway, what is related to water is our duty," he said.

During extreme weather, the Mataram City Damkarmat deploys personnel 24 hours a day, because the potential for fires during extreme weather is also very vulnerable.

"If two cars go to the disaster site, one car must remain on standby to anticipate other disasters," he said.

On the other hand, Rudi added, to minimize the impact of disasters, his party hopes for public participation to immediately report when there is a potential for fire or other disasters.

"Our team is on standby 24 hours a day, and can be contacted directly through a quick call to the Mataram 112 call center," he said.
