Ojol Driver Found Dead on the Edge of the Kalimalang Inspection Road After Crossing the Flood

JAKARTA - A motorcyclist who was hit by an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) was found lying lifeless on the side of the Kalimalang Inspection Highway, Warung Sengon Village, West Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Thursday, January 21, 2026 afternoon. It is suspected that the victim died of exhaustion.

The Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Kombes Sumarni confirmed the incident. The incident was handled by the West Cikarang Police on Thursday evening.

"It was handled last night, to the West Cikarang Police," he told VOI, Friday, January 22, 2026.

Meanwhile, West Cikarang Police Chief AKP Tri Baskoro Bintang Wijaya said the incident occurred at around 17.30 WIB. The victim was known to be riding a Honda Scoopy motorcycle with the police number B-5080-FTI.

"The victim is suspected of having a single accident while crossing a flooded road (flood)," said Bintang when confirmed by VOI,

Bintang revealed that when the victim, named Said Asra (52), a resident of Bekasi Regency, was traveling from west to east. It just so happened that the public road at the scene was flooded.

Upon arrival at the scene, the motorcycle driven by the victim allegedly lost control and fell. As a result of the incident, the victim was declared dead at the scene.

"The next body was evacuated to Medirosa Hospital for further treatment," he said.

Meanwhile, the victim's motorcycle suffered minor damage. The police have also secured evidence in the form of one motorcycle unit along with the victim's STNK and SIM C.

"Currently, the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation," he said.

Bintang confirmed that the incident was still being handled by officers from the West Cikarang Police Traffic Unit together with the Gakkum Team of the Bekasi Metro Police to carry out the scene of the crime (TKP), ask witnesses for information, and prepare a police report related to the incident.

"We will report back on further developments," he concluded.
