The Recovery of Telecommunications Networks in Aceh Continues, Has Reached 99 Percent
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria stated that the recovery of digital infrastructure in disaster-affected areas in Aceh continues to show positive developments.
"Reports from the field show that the level of availability (uptime) of telecommunications networks in Aceh currently reaches around 99 percent," said Nezar, quoted Friday, January 23.
Nezar also emphasized that Komdigi continues to carry out intensive monitoring and continues to be carried out, especially in areas that experience quite heavy disaster impacts such as in Aceh Tamiang and Central Aceh.
Currently, Nezar explained, the level of availability of telecommunications networks in Aceh Tamiang is at 92 percent, while in Central Aceh is around 96 percent.
"Other areas are also being improved, but the condition is above 90 percent. Overall, the telecommunications network in Aceh has improved as the electricity supply has improved," he said.
However, Nezar added that there were still a small number of telecommunications infrastructure that had technical damage due to flooding, and currently it was part of the government's continued handling in the recovery process.
"In general, the network has been turned back on, except for some BTS at a number of points that have experienced technical damage due to the flood. We will overcome this. The number is not much, about three points," he continued.
The government ensures that the improvement of network services is carried out gradually while still paying attention to technical conditions in the field.
