Today's Weather Unfriendly, Heavy Rain Hits Jabodetabek All Day

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that heavy rain will dominate the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas throughout Friday, January 23.

BMKG estimates that heavy rain is potentially occurring in most of the Jabodetabek area, accompanied by lightning or lightning and strong winds, which has the potential to impact the activities of residents and traffic.

In the morning from 07.00-13.00 WIB, light rain is still likely to fall. The potential for moderate to heavy intensity rain is expected to occur in Bekasi Regency, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Tangerang Regency, South Tangerang City, and Bogor Regency and City.

In the afternoon to the evening at 13.00-19.00 WIB, light rain is expected to still take place in some areas of Jabodetabek. BMKG noted the potential for moderate to heavy rain during this period still occurs in the City and Regency of Tangerang, South Tangerang, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and West Jakarta.

In terms of other weather conditions, the air temperature in the Bogor area is estimated to range between 20-28 degrees Celsius, while in other areas of Jabodetabek it is in the range of around 22 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity is high, ranging from 85 percent to 95 percent.

Surface winds are expected to blow from west to northwest at speeds of around 10-40 kilometers per hour.

BMKG urges the public and road users to remain vigilant against the potential for extreme weather, including heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that can affect outdoor activities this Friday.
