Due to Bad Weather, Kepulauan Seribu Police Urges People Not to Carry Out Activities at Sea

JAKARTA - The Kepulauan Seribu Police has given a warning of bad weather in the form of strong winds and high waves to the people of the Thousand Islands, North Jakarta.

"Fishermen and small boat users should postpone sea activities if weather conditions do not allow it," said the Head of the Thousand Islands Police, AKBP Arga Dija Putra, Thursday, January 22, 2026.

AKBP Arga also asked the public to always monitor weather forecast information from the BMKG and related agencies.

"Use maritime safety equipment such as life jackets. Make sure the condition of the ship and the engine is in a safe and safe condition," he said.

The Police Chief asked tourists who want to visit the Thousand Islands to follow the instructions of officers and boat operators for mutual safety.

"Immediately report to the officers if there is an emergency at sea," he said.

It is just known that the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning of extreme weather for the Jabodetabek area for the next few days starting from Thursday, January 22-26, 2026.

This information was conveyed through the official BMKG channel as a warning to the public to increase vigilance against the potential for moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning, thunder, and strong winds.

BMKG said that the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas have the potential to experience high rainfall in a short duration.
