Istana: Prabowonomics at WEF related to Sovereignty and Independence

JAKARTA - Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi conveyed the concept of Prabowonomics which will be delivered by President Prabowo Subianto in his inaugural speech at the World Economic Forum (WEF) related to efforts to maintain national sovereignty and economic independence.

"Maybe sovereignty or independence is also an important thing from the meaning of Prabowonomics," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, January 22, reported by ANTARA.

According to Prasetyo, Prabowonomics is a big theme that contains a number of emphases, such as the importance of maintaining stability so that the economy can run well. In addition, economic sovereignty and independence are an important part of the meaning of the concept.

Other emphasis also includes efforts to realize independence in strategic sectors, such as food and energy, which have been known through the food self-sufficiency and energy self-sufficiency agendas as part of the foundation for national economic resilience.

"Including, for example, regarding our independence in terms of food, in terms of energy, which we have been using the term for is food and energy self-sufficiency and so on," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the possibility of a bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and a number of heads of state on the sidelines of the WEF activities, Prasetyo said that this would still be checked further.

"We don't know yet, we will try to check it later," he concluded.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to deliver a special address at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, with the big theme of "Prabowonomics".

Based on information collected from the WEF official website, President Prabowo is scheduled to give a speech at 14.00 local time (CET) or 20.00 WIB.

In the same day's agenda, President Prabowo's session was preceded by a number of presidents and prime ministers, namely Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Meanwhile, Syrian President Ahmad Al Sharaa will be the speaker after Prabowo.

It is known that the President of Indonesia has been absent from the WEF for 10 years, where the first president to attend was Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and gave a speech in 2011 about a green or environmentally friendly economy.
