22 KK Fishermen's Houses in Bintaro Rusak Disapu Gelombang Pasang, Dinsos Dirikan Dapur Umum
JAKARTA - At least 25 fishing families in Bugis Village, Bintaro Subdistrict, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, were affected by the high tide on Thursday, January 22 in the early morning.
Acting Head of the Mataram City Social Service, Samsul Adnan, said that to accommodate the victims affected by the disaster, his party accommodated by setting up a public kitchen that was being prepared on the ground.
"Currently we are making preparations on the ground. Today our public kitchen is sure to be available to serve refugees in Bugis Village," he said in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Thursday.
The communal kitchen, he said, will prepare ready-to-eat meals because as many as 25 households or about 100 people affected by the tidal wave cannot carry out normal activities because their houses are severely damaged.
He said the public kitchen would be opened for the next few days according to the development conditions on the ground.
In addition to preparing ready-to-eat meals in the public kitchen, his party also distributed food packages to residents affected by the tidal wave and flash floods of 100 packages, containing mineral water, rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, and milk, as well as mats and blankets.
Previously on Wednesday (21/1) the Ministry of Social Affairs had also distributed 191 assistance packages for residents affected by floods and strong winds in three villages in Ampenan District.
The three villages affected by flooding and strong winds include Selaparang Neighborhood, Banjar Village, with 12 households affected, then in Pejeruk Village 10 households were affected, and in the Kebon Talo Neighborhood, Ampenan Utara Village, 169 households were affected.
"The assistance is given only once. But if their condition still needs it, the village can propose again," said Samsul Adnan.
