Apple Will Turn Siri into an AI-Powered Chatbot

Apple is working to improve the capabilities of Siri, its artificial intelligent assistant. However, it is reported that the company wants to turn Siri into an AI-based chatbot.

That way, Siri's performance will be similar to ChatGPT or Gemini. This major innovation is predicted to be discussed by Apple when the company holds its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June.

The project to develop Siri as a chatbot is code-named Campos. According to a Bloomberg report, as reported via TechCrunch, Campos is designed to work seamlessly through both voice and text input.

The upcoming Siri changes show that Apple has changed their vision in developing their assistant. This is driven by the success pressure of its competitors, for example like Google which is successful with Gemini.

Over the past year, Apple has tested technology from various well-known AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic. However, the final choice fell on Google's Gemini to strengthen the AI ecosystem on its mobile devices.

The integration of this chatbot is expected to be able to answer Siri's shortcomings over the past few years. Users will later get the ability to interact with Siri more naturally, similar to talking to a human.

This new system will most likely be introduced as part of the iOS 27 update scheduled to arrive next year. To find out the details of this Siri improvement, we need to wait until WWDC is held.
