KPK Searches the House of the PUPR Officer of Madiun After Walkot Maidi Becomes a Suspect of Gratification

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators searched the house of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office of the City of Madiun, Thariq Megah, on Jalan Tanjung Manis XIV, Manisrejo Village, Taman District, Madiun City, East Java, Thursday, January 22.

The search was a continuation of the case of alleged extortion with the modus operandi of project rewards and corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, as well as other receipts or gratuities in the Madiun City Government involving the Mayor of Madiun (Walkot) Maidi.

The KPK investigation team came in four black Toyota Innova cars and entered the house on a narrow street at around 11.00 WIB. The search continued until noon.

ANTARA reporters on site reported that investigators immediately inspected various rooms in Thariq Megah's house after talking briefly with the owner of the house at the location. During the search process, the gate of the house, which is two meters high, was closed tightly, but the media crew was free to see.

There has been no official statement regarding the results of the search, but it is suspected that the activity is related to a gratification case involving suspects Maidi and Thariq Megah.

Before visiting Thariq's house, on Wednesday, January 21 evening, KPK investigators also searched Walkot Madiun Maidi's house and his confidant, Rochim Ruhdiyanto (RR), in Madiun, and seized a number of documents and cash.

The search and seizure were to find other evidence needed by investigators to strengthen the initial evidence that had been obtained in the event of being caught in the act or the initial examination that had been carried out on witnesses and suspects.

Previously, on January 19, 2026, the KPK confirmed that it had carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) against the Mayor of Madiun Maidi regarding project rewards and corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) funds in Madiun City.

Then on January 20, 2026, the KPK announced that three people were named as suspects after the OTT, namely the non-active Mayor of Madiun Maidi (MD), Rochim Ruhdiyanto (RR) as Maidi's confidant, and the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service of the City of Madiun Thariq Megah (TM).

The KPK then detained the suspects for the first 20 days from January 20 to February 8, 2026. The detention was carried out at the KPK Red and White Building Branch State Detention House (Rutan).
