Died While on Duty, Deden Maulana's Son Guaranteed Scholarship, Wife Recruited as KKP Employee

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries ensures that all the rights of the Anumerta Deden Maulana family are fulfilled, ranging from the provision of education scholarships for children to insurance changes, as well as recruiting the deceased's wife as an employee in the KKP environment.

"The Minister advised that his son would be given a scholarship to college," said Director General of Marine Resources and Fisheries Supervision of the KKP, Pung Nugroho Saksono, at the last honor ceremony at the Fisheries Business Expert Polytechnic, Pasar Minggu, Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, January 22.

Apart from scholarships, Pung ensured that the late's wife, Vera, would be recruited as an employee of the KKP to continue the service that Deden had pioneered during his life.

He expressed condolences for the death of Deden Maulana while carrying out state duties in the mission to monitor marine resources and fisheries in the waters of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to Pung, the supervision task carried out by the PSDKP ranks has high risks and heavy challenges in the field, both in air and sea operations, so that accompaniment is always carried out in every mission.

"On behalf of the Directorate General of PSDKP, especially the family and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in general, we express our highest appreciation for the dedication and services of the deceased while carrying out his duties," he said.

The inauguration ceremony began at 10.36 WIB as a form of the last honor with the granting of the posthumous rank to Deden Maulana. The body will then be buried in Garut City, West Java.

The body of Deden Maulana was found by a joint SAR team on Sunday, January 18, at around 14.20 Wita on the slope of Mount Bulusaraung with a depth of about 300 meters, after the plane he was traveling in crashed into the mountain on Saturday, January 17.

The victim of the ATR 42-500 plane crash was identified as a male with the name Deden Maulana after a post mortem and ante mortem examination was carried out at the South Sulawesi Regional Police DVI Biddokes Post on Jalan Kumala, Makassar, Wednesday night.

Deden is known to be an employee of the KKP in the field of managing regional property, who was one of the passengers on the ATR aircraft owned by Indonesia Air Transport in the flight accident.
