BATAM - PT Batam International Airport (BIB) officially announced the opening of a new international route connecting Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) with Hang Nadim Batam International Airport (BTH) with AirAsia Malaysia.

President Director of PT Batam International Airport Annang Setia Budhi said the opening of the Batam-Kuala Lumpur route showed a positive trend in public interest.

"We believe that this route will make a significant contribution to increasing international passenger traffic, strengthening the tourism sector, and encouraging economic growth and investment in the Riau Islands region, especially the city of Batam," he said in an official statement received in Batam, Antara, Thursday, January 22.
