Gold Mining Permit revoked, Agincourt speaks out
JAKARTA - The business entity owned by PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), PT Agincourt Resources spoke up regarding the revocation of the Mining Business Permit (IUP) by the Task Force for Forest Area Regulation.
Senior Manager of Corporate Communications Agincourt Resources Katarina Siburian Hardono said in his statement that his party only learned about the revocation through media reports.
"Until now, the Company has not been able to provide further comments considering that the Company has not received an official notification and knows in detail about the decision," said Katarina in a statement to the media, Wednesday, January 21.
He added that the company respects every government decision, and still maintains the rights of the Company in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Katarina also emphasized that the company always upholds the principles of good corporate governance or Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and is fully committed to complying with all regulations.
For information, Agincourt is one of 28 companies whose licenses were revoked by President Prabowo Subianto through the PKH Task Force on Tuesday, January 20.
The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi announced the results of the work of the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) regarding the success of uncovering a series of violations of forest utilization permits (PBPH), mining business permits, and palm oil plantation business permits in Aceh Province, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
