Trump insists he wants to annex Greenland, but won't use force
JAKARTA - President Donald Trump insists on wanting to get Greenland, but insists he will not use violence to achieve it.
This was conveyed by Trump in his speech at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
"All I ask is a piece of ice, cold and poorly located," Trump said.
"This is a very small request compared to what we have given them for decades," the Associated Press reported, Wednesday, January 21.
He urged NATO to allow the US to take Greenland from Denmark. The Republican president even delivered a stern warning if there was a pushback.
"We probably won't get anything unless I decide to use excessive force and coercion so that we will be absolutely invincible. But I won't do that. Okay?" said Trump.
"I don't need to use violence," he said. "I don't want to use violence. I won't use violence," he continued.
