Indonesia Masters 2026: Ginting wins, hosts have 16 representatives in the second round

JAKARTA - Indonesia is confirmed to have 16 representatives in the second round of the BWF Super 500 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2026 after Anthony Sinisuka Ginting managed to stop the Belgian representative, Julien Carraggi.

The first round of matches at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, ended on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, WIB evening. Ginting was forced to fight in the three-game match 12-21, 21-15, and 21-10 to get a ticket.

The number of representatives in the second round makes Indonesia sure to have three representatives who have reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.

This is because the men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles are fighting each other in the second round.

The clash between Indonesian representatives in the men's doubles occurred between Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and the second seeded pair of Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

Next in the women's doubles, the war between the host representatives involved the pair of Siti Sarah Azzahra/Az Zahra Ditya Ramadhani against Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum.

As for the mixed doubles, the duel of the host representatives took place between Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Bernadine Anindya Wardana.

In addition to the representatives above, mixed doubles specialist badminton player Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja also reached the second round. However, the 32-year-old athlete paired up with Singaporean badminton player Hee Yong Kai Terry.

The second round match of the 2026 Indonesia Masters will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The series of matches will start at 09.00 WIB.
