Senegal Players Receive Rp22 Billion Bonus and 1,500 Meter Land after Winning the 2025 African Cup of Nations

JAKARTA - Bonuses flow heavily for the players of the National Team (Timnas) Senegal who have just secured the title of African Cup of Nations 2025. The local government gives a fantastic appreciation not only in the form of money, but also land.

The President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, appreciated the players by giving them a bonus and adding a 1,500-meter piece of land in Petite Cote.

Both bonuses were given as a form of appreciation for the great achievement in the African continental football event.

Senegal secured its second African Cup of Nations title in history after defeating hosts Morocco 1-0 in the final on Monday, January 19, 2026 WIB.

Although the match was marred by controversy due to protests against the penalty decision towards the end of normal time, Senegal managed to win the title at the event after the creation of a dramatic single goal from Pape Gueye in extra time.

The return of the Senegal National Team players was then greeted by a festive parade of tens of thousands of fans who filled the streets of Dakar, the capital of Senegal. On an open bus that was paraded for seven hours, the players and coaches showed off their winning trophies while traveling through the capital, before finally arriving at the Presidential Palace for an honor ceremony.

As a form of official appreciation, each member of the national squad was given a cash bonus of 75 million CFA francs (US$134,000) or around Rp2.2 billion.

In addition, the Senegalese government also awarded land up to 1,500 meters in the Petite Cote area, a popular and developing area on the country's coast, to each player as a long-term asset.

This land and cash bonus is a symbol of the state's recognition of the services of the players who have made Senegal famous on the continental stage.

The prize is also an investment for the future of the athletes' lives off the field.
