President Prabowo Welcomes King Charles III at Lancaster House

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the arrival of King Charles III right at the door of Lancaster House, London, England, Wednesday morning, in a meeting with Indonesian-British environmental philanthropy which was one of the agendas of President Prabowo's visit to England.

King Charles III, who is currently 77 years old, walked from his residence at St. James's Palace to the meeting location at Lancaster House.

Lancaster House is a 4-minute walk from St. James's Palace.

In front of the door, President Prabowo immediately greeted King Charles III when he arrived at Lancaster. The moment was also immortalized by a number of journalists and personal photographers of the Kingdom who were on the back side of President Prabowo.

King Charles III and President Prabowo then entered the room while chatting. The two then took a cup of tea, and entered the main room to meet with philanthropists who focus on conservation issues and environmental preservation.

During the event, President Prabowo introduced his son, Ragowo Hediprasetyo Djojohadikusumo - popularly known as Didit - to King Charles III.

Reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 21, President Prabowo also introduced Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya to King Charles III, and King Charles III then greeted the Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

Then, President Prabowo continued to introduce his younger brother, who is also the President's Special Envoy for Climate and Energy, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, and Head of the Poverty Alleviation Acceleration Agency (BP Taskin) Budiman Sudjatmiko to King Charles III.

The meeting at the Main Hall of Lancaster House was semi-formal. King Charles stood right next to President Prabowo, and the two discussed philanthropy while drinking tea. The event at Lancaster House lasted for about 45 minutes.

After the meeting, President Prabowo and King Charles left Lancaster House. King Charles went first on foot to his residence at St. James's Palace. Then five minutes later, President Prabowo also walked to St. James.

At St. James, President Prabowo and King Charles III continued to meet to discuss a number of environmental issues, including those related to elephant conservation.

King Charles III currently holds the position as patron for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF)-UK.

The meeting at St. James's was closed to journalists.

After St. James Palace, President Prabowo is scheduled to continue his journey to the airport to fly to Davos, Switzerland.

In Davos, the President will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) and give a special address on Thursday (22/1).
