Minister of PKP reminds subsidized flats in Meikarta not to be contracted: It violates the law
JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar or Ara Sirait emphasized that subsidized flats (flats) that will be built in the Meikarta area, Cikarang, West Java cannot be rented. The buyer must make the unit their main home and cannot be transferred as a contractor.
"The rule is that this is the first house, it shouldn't be (contracted, ed). If there is, it violates the law," Ara told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 21.
Ara explained that his party would make rules to prevent buyers from renting subsidized housing units to other parties. "We are hard on that. It's not allowed. So this one person, one place must be left," said the Gerindra Party politician.
"Later I will make rules, we have sanctions. It's not allowed. This is a subsidy," continued Ara.
Meanwhile, Pahala Nainggolan as Expert Staff of the Minister of PKP said that this subsidized apartment can only be taken by people who have a maximum income of Rp. 12 million per month for those who are single and Rp. 14 million per month for those who have families.
"Friends who are bachelors in Jakarta (with income, ed) Rp. 12 million and above are not allowed, below it is allowed. If you have a family, Rp. 14 million income if above is not allowed, if below is allowed," said the former KPK pensioner.
"So friends, if you buy a subsidized house, the interest is 10 percent 11 percent, the state bears part of it. So, it is guaranteed only 5 percent. Well, for that the state has to lend to the bank 6 percent like that."
As previously reported, the KPK gave the green light for the Ministry of PKP to build subsidized flats in the Meikarta area, Cikarang, West Java. The location is confirmed to have nothing to do with the case of bribery for project permits that had been investigated and ensnared the Regent of Bekasi for the period 2017-2022 Neneng Hasan Yasin.
This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo after an audience between the KPK leadership and the Minister of PKP Maruarar or Ara Sirait at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today, January 21.
"The status of Meikarta is clean and clear," Budi told reporters.
The KPK emphasized that it would support the Ministry of PKP's discourse to build subsidized flats on land around the Meikarta Apartment. This way, said Budi, is a form of optimizing assets so that they are beneficial to the community.
Moreover, the KPK has never confiscated Meikarta apartment units in the case of project permit bribery, which is now legally binding or inkrah. "Of course, the KPK also fully supports the government's efforts through the Ministry of PKP," he said.
