Google Introduces Gemini Integration in Chrome for Chromebook Devices

JAKARTA - Gemini integration in Chrome is finally available for Chromebook users. Support for this Gemini in Chrome feature is starting to appear in the latest ChromeOS, following the launch on Windows and macOS last year.

Launching from 9to5google, this feature can be seen in the latest Canary version. In the update, users can quickly access Google's Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant through a small Gemini icon in the upper right corner of Chrome, parallel to the address bar.

With this integration, users can summarize or compare data from multiple active tabs in Chrome just by activating the Gemini icon. This ability will make it easier for users to process information from various web pages that have been visited before.

Google has confirmed that the launch of Gemini in Chrome will be carried out gradually, starting with Chrome version 144. This launch is in line with Google's commitment to expanding the use of AI across its ecosystem, including Chromebooks.

This update seems to focus on the Chromebook Plus first. The device is designed to handle AI workloads more responsively. It is not known when the expansion to other Chromebook models will be carried out.

Although the launch of Gemini on ChromeOS is a little slower, this launch is still good news. Now, not only Windows and macOS users can access Gemini without opening a second web or application, but also Chromebook users.

To find out when your device gets the Gemini update in Chrome, you need to monitor the operating system (OS) updates of your device gradually. This feature expansion is likely to take quite a while because Google has to bring the feature to users around the world.
