The State Successfully Dominated 4.09 Million Hectare of Illegal Oil Palm Gardens

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi conveyed the results of the work of the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) for one year after being formed by President Prabowo Subianto.

As a result, the country managed to retake 4.09 million hectares of illegal oil palm plantations. Of the total area, about 900 hectares have been returned to conservation forests.

This was conveyed by Prasetyo Hadi at a PKH Task Force press conference at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 20.

The Minister of Environment and Forestry said that some of the areas that had been disciplined were in the national strategic conservation area. Including 81,793 hectares in the Tesso Nilo National Park area, Riau Province.

Prasetyo added, after the occurrence of hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, the PKH Task Force accelerated the audit and inspection process in the three provinces.

The results of the investigation into the companies suspected of violating the law have also been reported to President Prabowo Subianto in a limited meeting held online.
