TL Palmerah's Street Performers and Beggars Reportedly Cause Concern for Residents
JAKARTA - West Jakarta Social Service, Supervision and Control (P3S) officers traced the whereabouts of the Social Welfare Service (PPKS) or homeless residents who made the traffic light (TL) of Jalan Palmerah Utara, Palmerah, West Jakarta, restless, Tuesday.
"We follow up by assigning a number of P3S officers with the Jakbar Satpol PP at the red light of Jalan Palmerah Utara, coincidentally the point is bordered by another area," said Head of the West Jakarta Social Service Sub-Directorate, Fajar Laksono, Tuesday.
The search was carried out following a report from the public who complained about the presence of street performers and beggars in the area.
Fajar said that in this search, officers had not found the presence of PPKS, but monitoring would continue.
"But the team will still monitor and immediately follow up on reports in accordance with applicable regulations so that there is no violation of local regulations (Perda)," he added.
It is known that the West Jakarta Social Service Tribe has netted as many as 1,621 Social Welfare Problem Sufferers (PMKS) or Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) throughout 2025.
Of the 1,629 people, 629 people were the most PMKS. Street performers 99, beggars 74, pak ogah 56, scavengers 26, street children 19, asongan 11, and other PMKS 227 people.
