VOI Today: ATR 42-500 Plane Crashes, Chronology and Update on Evacuation of Victims Seta Search for Black Box in Mount Bulusaraung

JAKARTA - An ATR 42-500 aircraft belonging to Indonesia Air Transport crashed on the steep cliff of Mount Bulusaraung, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi while carrying seven crew members and three passengers from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

The latest data confirms that the plane is carrying 10 people, including Captain Andy Dahananto and Co-pilot Muhammad Farhan Gunawan. As of Tuesday, January 20, the joint SAR team involving 1,200 personnel from the TNI, Polri, and Basarnas has managed to find two bodies, one male and one female on the slope of the ravine with a depth of 500 meters from the peak.
