Wave of Goodness from Nusantara: 527 Health Volunteers Ready to Control Aceh's Recovery

JAKARTA - At a time when the water is starting to recede and the people of Aceh are starting to repair after the hydrometeorological disaster, the humanitarian spirit is getting stronger. The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has again sent a "team" of health protectors. A total of 527 volunteers who are members of the Health Reserve Force (TCK) Batch 3 were officially deployed to ensure that the people of Aceh really recover completely.

This assignment is not just a medical routine, but a relay of kindness that continues the struggle of the previous batch of volunteers. Starting from January 18 to 31, 2026, they will spread to nine priority districts and cities, bringing new hope to residents in Bireuen to Pidie.

Present with Heart in the Recovery Period

Although the condition of health facilities in the field is reported to be stable, the presence of Batch 3 volunteers is very crucial. In this recovery phase, the challenges faced are no longer just visible physical wounds, but also the recovery of psychological and environmental health after the flood.

Director General of Health Human Resources (SDMK) of the Ministry of Health, Yuli Farianti, conveyed a deep message to volunteers before they left. He emphasized that in this mission, empathy is the most important "medicine".

"Take care of yourself, take care of your friends, and take care of your institution. Provide the best service with empathy for the people of Aceh," said Yuli warmly.

Cross-Professional and Regional Collaboration

This humanitarian mission feels very special because of the diversity of the personnel involved. Not only doctors and nurses, this team is also strengthened by experts who work behind the scenes but are very decisive in the quality of life of residents, such as:

Clinical Psychologist: To help residents heal from post-disaster trauma.

Environmental Health Workers: Ensuring that residents' water and sanitation are clean again.

Nutrition: Maintain the intake of nutrients for vulnerable groups.

Specialist Doctors & Dentists: Provide advanced medical services that may have been delayed.

What's more amazing, these volunteers come from various parts of the archipelago. In addition to Jakarta, this wave of assistance also came from Makassar and other provinces, proving that distance is not a barrier when brothers in Aceh need a helping hand.

Keeping Asa until the end of January

The Head of the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health, Agus Jamaludin, confirmed that all volunteers would work hand in hand with local health workers. It is hoped that close coordination will create a targeted and responsive handling system for the unique needs in each area, such as in Aceh Tamiang and Gayo Lues.

Through the presence of these 527 volunteers, the government wants to send a strong message to the people of Aceh: that they are not alone. In the midst of the process of rebuilding homes and lives, there are hundreds of hands ready to keep the body healthy and the spirit still burning.
