Collaboration between Danantara and PTPP strengthens post-disaster recovery through the construction of temporary housing

JAKARTA - Efforts to recover after the flood disaster in Aceh Tamiang continue to be strengthened through collaboration between Danantara and PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) in providing temporary emergency response housing for affected communities in Aceh Tamiang and North Aceh Regency.

After focusing on reopening access and restoring basic infrastructure through collaboration with the Ministry of PU, the provision of temporary housing became an urgent need so that residents could return to carrying out daily activities safely and decently during the transition period of recovery. Through this collaboration, housing development is carried out in a planned, fast, and measurable manner.

Nationally, Danantara targets the construction of 15,000 temporary housing units in various disaster-affected areas in the next three months. In its implementation, PTPP is involved in the construction of 600 temporary housing units in Aceh Tamiang Regency and North Aceh Regency as part of the contribution of SOEs in supporting post-disaster recovery.

Especially in Aceh Tamiang Regency, PTPP completed the construction of 94 temporary housing units based on the stage system and ready to be used by affected residents. In North Aceh Regency, PTPP has also completed 118 units as of January 15, 2026.

All housing is designed as a ready-to-live area, complete with supporting facilities in the form of MCK, water tanks, prayer rooms, wudu and washing places, pedestrian roads, drainage systems, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems of the area to ensure that the basic needs of the community are met from the beginning of the recovery period.

The construction process is carried out quickly and measured as part of the collaboration between Danantara and PTPP, and coordinated with BP BUMN to ensure that the response provided is in line, on target, and in accordance with the needs in the field.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said that the provision of temporary housing is an important part of the sustainable post-disaster recovery strategy.

"Recovery does not stop at improving access and infrastructure. People also need a safe place to live so that they can return to organizing daily activities. We are ready to provide temporary housing as a transition space before medium and long-term recovery," said Joko, Tuesday, January 20.

The construction of temporary housing complements various recovery efforts that have previously been carried out in Aceh and its surrounding areas, including the restoration of infrastructure and other supporting access. The entire process is carried out through coordination with stakeholders so that the response provided is targeted and relevant.

Joko added, through this collaboration, PTPP hopes to help the community pass through the initial recovery phase more safely, while supporting the gradual recovery of social life.
