West Java Police DVI Team Sends DNA Results of ATR Aircraft Victims' Families
BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team has sent to Makassar the results of the DNA samples of the family of the ATR 42-500 flight attendant of Indonesia Air Transport named Esther Aprilita, who was a victim of an accident on Mount Bulusaraung, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi.
Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Hendra Rochmawan, said his party had taken DNA samples from the victim's family at his residence in Caringin District, Bogor Regency, West Java.
"We have sent a DVI team from the Bogor Police who have the ability. Furthermore, data collection has been carried out and all data have been completed and received by the joint team in Makassar," said Hendra as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 20.
According to him, the collection of ante mortem data and DNA samples for comparison is an important part of the process of scientifically identifying the victims.
Hendra said his party was still waiting for the results from the joint SAR team regarding the data of the victims found to be further matched with DNA samples from the family of the flight attendant.
"Currently we are waiting for the continuation of the joint SAR team so that it can facilitate the identification of the victim. We pray that all of these processes can be completed and completed soon," said Hendra.
Previously, the joint SAR team found another victim of the ATR 42-500 plane accident belonging to Indonesia Air Transport (IAT) in the Bulusaraung mountain area, Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency, South Sulawesi on Monday (19/1).
The victim, a female, was found by the joint SAR team at around 14.00 WITA after receiving a report from the search team in the field. A day earlier, one male victim was also found. Now there are two victims who have been found.
