Schools in Aceh Gradually Recover, Students Return to School
ACEH - The government continues to work to ensure that post-disaster recovery in three provinces, Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra, takes place quickly. One of the buildings that was cleaned was a school.
As is the case with what happened at the Muhammadiyah Meureudu Elementary School in Meunasah Balek Village, Meureudu District, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh, it can now be used again for teaching and learning activities. Tables and chairs are neatly lined up in classrooms.
The floor is shiny white. The students are paying attention to the teacher who is explaining the math lesson. This scene contrasts with the end of November 2025 when SD Muhamadiyah Meureudu was in a state of chaos after being hit by a mud flood.
At that time, tables and chairs were scattered in the classroom, mixed with books and other learning equipment. The flood also left garbage and brown mud as high as an adult's feet in the school building.
Dozens of TNI soldiers from Kodam Iskandar Muda together with the community came down to help clean the school.
The head of SD Muhammadiyah Meureudu, Husnawati, expressed his appreciation for the concern and hard work of TNI soldiers who helped clean the school environment. He was grateful that the school could resume the education process for children.
