Meeting with the DPR, Wamen PU conveyed the development of handling the National Road after the Sumatra disaster.

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) conveyed the latest developments regarding national road sections affected by the post-Sumatra disaster at the end of November 2025.

Deputy Minister of PU Diana Kusumastuti said that the national roads in Aceh Province are now fully functional for 2 and 4 wheel vehicles, both east, west, central cross-corridors to cross-connections.

"The east and west corridors of Aceh have been fully functional for 2-wheel and 4-wheel vehicles. (As well as) the central corridor and the connecting corridor of Aceh have been fully functional for 2-wheel and 4-wheel vehicles, (but) with a maximum axle load of 10 tons," said Diana in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 20.

However, Diana said, there are restrictions for motor vehicles when crossing two bailey bridges in Aceh Province, namely the Kr.Tingkem bailey bridge and the Awe Geutah/Teupin Reudeup bailey bridge.

"This restriction is also applied to the Kr.Tingkem bailey bridge and a maximum load of 30 tons and the Awe Geutah/Teupin Reudeup bailey bridge is also on an alternative road (district road) with a maximum load of 10 tons," he said.

As for North Sumatra Province (Sumut), said Diana, from all national road corridors affected by the disaster, there is still 1 segment of the road that is still cut off.

"In all national road corridors affected by disasters, there is still 1 segment that is broken, namely Simpang Rampa-Sibolga via Batu Lubang. Then, access to Sibolga City can also use other national road corridors or alternative roads," he said.

Meanwhile, for West Sumatra Province (Sumbar), he continued, of the 18 affected roads, 16 of them are now fully functional and the other two roads are still limited in functionality.

"All national road corridors affected, 16 roads are functional and two roads are in limited functional condition, this is the Anai Valley area, namely the Padang Panjang-Sicincin City Road and the Sutan Syahrir City Road in Padang Panjang City," he said.
