After Preparing 12 New Models for Indonesia until 2029, There are SUVs to Sedans
JAKARTA - After being ready to hit the gas in the Indonesian automotive market. This Chinese automotive manufacturer is preparing a massive expansion by presenting 12 new models in the next three years to fill various market segments.
Deputy Country Director of the Indonesian Lepas Business Unit, Ricky He, said that all models would be divided equally into six SUVs and six sedans. Interestingly, the product line is not only intended for Indonesia, but is developed as a global model.
"We will introduce 12 new models in 3 years. Six SUVs and six sedans, combining all global segments. This is a long-term commitment," said Ricky in North Jakarta, Monday, January 19.
Of the total 12 models that have been prepared, Lepas first introduced three names to the public, namely L8, L4, and L6. All three rely on Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology that combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor, as the manufacturer's first step in introducing electrification in the country.
The strategy is said to be an entry point before Lepas steps further into the pure electric vehicle segment. Because, this manufacturer has also prepared a series of battery-based cars or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), including E2, E4, E6, to E8.
One of the most interesting is E4. The model that plays in the A segment SUV class is rumored to make its debut at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).
With a combination of SUVs and sedans, as well as technology options ranging from PHEV to BEV, Lepas wants to expand its reach to consumers in Indonesia while strengthening its position in the midst of an industry transition towards more environmentally friendly vehicles.
