Former PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa, rumored to be heading to Persib Bandung
JAKARTA - Former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Layvin Kurzawa is rumored to be in negotiations to join Super League club Persib Bandung.
Kurzawa is currently a free transfer. Since joining Boavista (Primeira Liga/Portuguese Premier League) in February 2025, Kurzawa has only appeared four times in the competition. This is the situation that has led to the issue of moving to Indonesia to spread.
"As a free transfer player since the end of his contract at Portuguese club Boavista in June 2025, Layvin Kurzawa (33) is preparing to take a radical and exotic step in his career."
"According to our informants, the former French National Team player (13 caps) is in the next stage of negotiations to move to Southeast Asia, especially to Indonesia," said Foot Mercato, quoted on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The same source reported that by Sunday, January 18, 2026, Kurzawa's deal with Persib was almost reached. There are only a few small details that are in the final stages of negotiations.
It is also said that Kurzawa is interested in joining Persib because he has big ambitions in the Asian Champions League Two (AFC Champions League Two) and in the process of winning the league for the third time.
Even though he is from France, Kurzawa will also have no trouble adapting. The reason is, currently Maung Bandung, the nickname of Persib, has one player from France, namely Andrew Jung.
However, until now, the Persib Bandung party has also not responded or provided information about the news of Layvin Kurzawa's joining.
