Pramono Groundbreaking Entrance to Harmoni Station, Prepared to Become a Strategic TOD Node

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung laid the first stone for the construction of the entrance (entrance) of the Harmoni Station. This development is part of the development of the transit oriented development (TOD) area as the MRT Jakarta phase 2A project continues.

Pramono targets the Harmoni Station to be an important node for citizen mobility, especially for government employees and economic activity actors in the city center. Pramono assessed that Harmoni's position is very strategic because it is in the heart of the government and business office area.

"I have known this place for almost 25 years. I believe that in 2029, when TOD Harmoni is completed, this area will become a very strategic TOD. Around this area there are many government offices, such as the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of the Cabinet Secretariat, the Presidential Staff Office, and a number of offices around the Palace. Of course this station will be optimally utilized," said Pramono at the location, Tuesday, January 20.

Pramono said that when the MRT line is connected to Old Town in 2029, Harmoni Station is projected to be one of the stations with high passenger activity.

This area is considered to have great potential to become the center of economic and transportation movement, as in the past.

According to Pramono, the Harmoni area was previously known as an important business center in Jakarta. Through the development of the MRT and TOD, this area is expected to grow again with its own character, different from other TOD areas such as Blok M.

"Harmony will have an MRT entrance that is also connected to Transjakarta. Phase 2A MRT is targeted to reach Monas and operate in 2027. Furthermore, the line will be extended to Old Town with seven stations, namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmony, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Old Town," he explained.

On this occasion, Pramono also expressed his appreciation to the parties involved in the construction of the Harmoni Station entrance, including the Duta Merlin area manager who previously used the area.

"We hope that all stages of construction can be carried out according to schedule, even if it is possible to be faster, with the full support of the Central Government and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Pramono.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT MRT Jakarta Tuhiyat explained that the construction of MRT phase 2 is a continuation of the development of a modern mass transportation system from the city center to the Old City area.

"Regarding the general overview of the Harmoni Station, the length of this station reaches 252 meters with a width of 18 meters and a depth of 17 meters. This station has two floors, namely the concourse and the platform, as well as seven entrances, two on the west side, two on the east side, and three in the middle which are integrated with the Transjakarta stop," he said.
