Kejaksaan Agung Menyelidiki Rantai Pasok Migas Lewat Pemeriksaan Sudirman Said

JAKARTA - The team of investigators from the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) again examined former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said as a witness in the alleged criminal corruption case at Pertamina Energy Trading Limited (Petral), Monday, January 19.

"The person concerned was examined as a witness in the alleged corruption case in Petral," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna in Jakarta, Monday.

This examination is the second time for Sudirman Said. Anang explained that the information requested was related to Sudirman's capacity when he served as senior vice president of integrated supply chain (ISC) of Pertamina in the period 2008-2009, as well as when he served as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2014-2016.

According to Anang, investigators investigated Sudirman Said's knowledge related to the Petral case, including confirming a number of evidence that was shown to him. This examination aims to clarify the sequence of events and the role of the parties involved in the case.

"Regarding the evidence shown, investigators are investigating his knowledge both when he served at Pertamina and when he became Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources," said Anang.

The Attorney General's Office has so far examined around 60 witnesses in the Petral case, including parties who were previously members of Petral which has now been disbanded. However, the Attorney General's Office has not detailed the identity of the witnesses.

Anang also revealed that at present, investigators are still waiting for the results of the calculation of state losses by the auditor. Although he has not detailed the amount, he said that the potential state losses in this case are quite large.

Meanwhile, Sudirman Said admitted that this examination was the second time. He admitted that he was asked for information regarding his experience in improving the supply chain and the national energy sector, including efforts to eradicate the practice of the oil and gas mafia.

"Two times I was given the task to fix the energy sector and the supply chain, but twice I also experienced obstacles. When at Pertamina, the ISC unit was paralyzed due to a change of directors," said Sudirman at the Attorney General's Office building.

According to him, a similar condition also occurred when he served as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. The improvement efforts carried out did not run smoothly because his term of office was relatively short, less than two years.

Sudirman emphasized that he had conveyed all his experiences to investigators and hoped that his testimony would help law enforcement. "Hopefully my testimony will be beneficial and clarify the issue," he said.

It is known that the Attorney General's Office is currently investigating the case of alleged corruption in Petral crude oil with a period of 2008-2015, which covers a longer period than the previous handling by the KPK. The Attorney General's Office also ensured that it had coordinated with the KPK in handling the case.
