Minister of Culture Raises Senior Advisor, History and Museum as Policy Focus

JAKARTA - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon has appointed a number of senior national figures as Minister Advisors to strengthen the strategic policy direction of the Ministry of Culture, especially in the fields of history, literature, and museums.

The Minister's Advisory Decree (SK) was handed over at the Ministry of Culture Building, Monday (19/1). The figures who received the SK directly include Singgih Tri Sulistiyono as Advisor for the Preservation of Maritime History and Culture, Taufik Ismail as Advisor for the Strengthening of Indonesian Literature, Putu Supadma Rudana as Advisor for Strategy and Museum Management, and Batara Richard Hutagalung as Advisor for National History Literacy.

Fadli Zon emphasized that the appointment of advisers was carried out to ensure that cultural policies were based on the depth of science and the long experience of the figures. One of the main focuses that will be supervised by the advisers is the compilation of national history books.

"This year we are targeting the writing of the history of the War to Defend Independence 1945-1950, as well as the history of the kingdoms of Nusantara such as Majapahit, Sriwijaya, and Samudera Pasai," said Fadli. The books are prepared as a credible reference for strengthening the literacy of the history of the younger generation.

In the field of literature, the Ministry of Culture also encourages the translation of Indonesian literary works into foreign languages as part of cultural diplomacy. Meanwhile, in the museum sector, attention is directed not only to national museums, but also regional, private, thematic museums, as well as museums of national figures and heroes.

Batara Richard Hutagalung assessed the trust as a Minister's Advisor as a great responsibility to strengthen national historical literacy. Singgih Tri Sulistiyono emphasized the importance of a historical narrative based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as a glue for the nation, while Putu Supadma Rudana assessed that strengthening museums was the key to maintaining the collective memory of the nation.

In addition to the figures present, the Ministry of Culture will also hand over the SK Minister's Advisor to Wardiman Djojonegoro, Noerhadi Magetsari, Anhar Gonggong, and Taufik Abdullah.
