Papua Student in Bantul Abused to Death, the Trigger is a Minor Emotion
Bantul - The Bantul Police in the Yogyakarta Special Region revealed the motive for the perpetrator AA (23) from Pugo Dadi, Paniai Regency, Central Papua, to persecute a student from Papua until it resulted in death, due to emotions.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Bantul Police, AKP Ahmad Mirza, said that the incident of abuse that occurred in the Sidorejo area, Kalurahan Ngestiharjo, Bantul Regency on Saturday (17/1) morning was motivated by the emotional actions of the perpetrator.
"The motive of the perpetrator was due to emotion only, because at that time, the victim, namely AG (20), a resident of Wegee Muka, Paniai, was carrying a motorcycle and riding with the perpetrator, then hit a tree. After that, there was a dispute between the victim and the perpetrator," he said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 19.
He said, before the dispute occurred, the victim and the perpetrator had agreed to consume liquor in the south of the crime scene, not far from the location of the persecution.
They used the same motorcycle as the victim's position, and the perpetrator as a passenger. However, suddenly the rider hit a tree, so they fought and there was persecution.
"In the persecution, the perpetrator stabbed the victim with a sharp weapon which has not been found and is still in the process of search. The sharp weapon was carried by the perpetrator," he said.
According to him, the commotion was actually known to residents who passed by the scene. However, residents did not dare to separate the perpetrator and the victim, and then residents saw the victim lying on his back on the edge of the local residents' house.
Furthermore, a short while later, the police managed to secure the perpetrator at the Banguntapan area dormitory, Bantul on Saturday (17/1) at around 16.30 WIB. And after being investigated, it turned out that the victim and the perpetrator still had blood relations or siblings, and students from different campuses.
"The police also secured evidence in the form of a pair of black flip-flops, a light green T-shirt with blood stains, a black long pants in a gray-gray combination, and a red fabric vest belonging to the victim," he said.
In addition, one light blue jeans jacket, one black sleeveless shirt, and one black fabric pants belonging to the perpetrator.
"The perpetrator is currently in custody. As a result of this action, the perpetrator is suspected of Article 458 of the Criminal Code paragraph (1) with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison," he said.
