Changan Lumin EV Price Increased by Rp21 Million at the Beginning of the Year, Now Equivalent to Atto 1
JAKARTA - The trend of adjusting the price of new electric cars is starting to be felt in early 2026. One of those who also revised the price tag was Changan Indonesia, through its small model, Changan Lumin EV.
Based on VOI's monitoring of Changan's official website, Monday, January 19, the Lumin EV price is now marketed at Rp. 199 million. This figure is up significantly compared to when it debuted at the GJAW 2025 event, when this car was still offered for around Rp. 178 million for the DKI Jakarta area.
This means that there is a price spike of around Rp. 21 million in just a few weeks. Interestingly, the new Lumin EV's price tag is already at a level equivalent to the cheapest variant of the BYD Atto 1 in Indonesia.
This condition makes the competition for entry-level electric cars increasingly tight, because prospective consumers now have more options at almost the same price range. This price increase is actually not a surprise.
Entering the beginning of the year, the automotive industry is often experiencing adjustments, one of which is due to changes in cost components such as the Motor Vehicle Re-naming Fee (BBNKB). In addition, fluctuations in raw material prices also affect the cost of production and distribution of electric vehicles, including for Chinese brands such as Changan.
Just for the record, the Changan Lumin EV is not a new player in Southeast Asia. This model has previously tasted the Philippine and Thai markets, before finally entering Indonesia as an option for compact electric cars for urban use.
In terms of specifications, the Lumin EV is designed as a small vehicle for the city with dimensions of 3,270 mm long, 1,700 mm wide, and 1,590 mm high, and a wheelbase of 1,980 mm. The ground clearance is 150 mm, which is safe enough for daily needs on city streets.
This electric car uses a 28.08 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that is claimed to be able to travel up to 301 km (NEDC). Its power is supplied by an electric motor with 48 hp power with a torque of 83 Nm, channeled to the front wheels via the FWD system.
To support commuter activities, Lumin EV has a top speed of 101 km/h. As for safety, the braking system combines front discs and rear drums, plus active features such as ABS, EBD, HHC, and ESP to improve control and stability while driving.
