X Establishes New Monetization Scheme, Doubles Revenue Sharing Fund for Creators
JAKARTA - The X social media platform announced a new content monetization scheme in 2026, which is designed to increase the income of creators on its platform.
The company said the move was made in line with the significant growth in the number of X Premium customers throughout 2025. Where X closed 2025 with the highest payment since the monetization program was launched.
"This year, our focus is clear: empowering creators to thrive on X and earn more," the company wrote in its post on X quoted Monday, January 19.
2026 is the year of the creator on 𝕏.
"We closed 2025 with the highest payouts since our monetization program launched and we are just getting started. This year, our focus is clear: empower creators to grow on 𝕏 and earn more,"

First, X will increase the revenue sharing pool more than twofold, compared to before. In addition, X also updates the method of calculating creator revenue.
The social media platform owned by billionaire Elon Musk said that now, payments will be based on impressions from verified Premium users on the Home Timeline, rather than just the total number of impressions in general.
"This change is aimed at rewarding content that really provides value," he added.
Not only that, the company hinted that it would provide greater monetization on certain content formats, especially long-form content such as articles.
"We understand that some content formats require more effort and can have a greater impact than others," X explained.
At the same time, X also confirmed that it would tighten the fraud detection system and non-authentic interactions to maintain the quality of the monetization ecosystem.
"Our goal is to make X the best platform to make a living from your content, and this is just the beginning," the announcement concluded.
