Food-Vitamin Cukup, Noel Ebenezer Admits Only Inner Needs that Do Not Fit During the KPK Detention Center
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower for the period 2024-2025 Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan admitted that he did not experience inhumane treatment during his detention at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention house.
In fact, the man who is familiarly called Noel said that his physical condition was actually getting healthier while in the detention center. He said that the nutritional needs and nutritional intake during detention were met well.
"Alhamdulillah my condition is good while in detention. I'm getting fatter, fresher because of the food, vitamins, and nutrients provided," said Noel when met before the reading of the indictment at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Antara, Monday, January 19.
Noel also expressed his appreciation to the KPK investigators and prison officers who, according to him, had carried out their duties professionally. He assessed that the prison guards were friendly, responsible, and maintained integrity during his legal process.
According to Noel, in general there is no significant problem as long as he is detained. However, he admitted that there was one thing he felt was not fulfilled.
"The responsibility of the prison guard is extraordinary, just everything. What is not right is our inner needs," he said with a smile.
Noel's statement was made amid a legal process that entangled him in a case of alleged extortion related to the management of K3 certificates in the Ministry of Manpower. In this case, the Corruption Eradication Commission named him a suspect along with a number of other parties.
The KPK suspects that the extortion practice in the management of the K3 certificate has been taking place for several years with a value of hundreds of billions of rupiah. The case is currently being rolled out in court and entering the stage of reading the indictment.
