Two Bailey Bridges Successfully Completed, Aceh Community Activities Expected to Resume

ACEH - Two emergency or Bailey bridges in Aceh Province have been completed since Friday, January 16. The construction was rushed by the TNI through the Iskandar Muda Military Regional Command (Kodam).

The completion of the two bridges is expected to restore connectivity in the region which was cut off due to flash floods and landslides last November.

The first bridge that has been completed is the Bener Kelipah Bridge on the North Aceh-Bener Meriah-Takengon road section, Bener Meriah Regency. The bridge can already be used by vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled.

The second bridge that has been completed is the Krueng Pelang Bridge in Central Aceh Regency. After all the bridge frames were successfully installed, the bridge on the Bereunun-Pameu-Takengon road section can now even be crossed by heavy vehicles such as trucks.

The completion of the Krueng Pelang Bridge is quite fast. The construction of this bridge is very important because it has a vital role in reconnecting two sub-districts in Central Aceh, namely Silih Nara and Rusip Antara, which were previously paralyzed due to disasters.

In addition to completing the two bridges, the TNI is also preparing to build the Matang Serdang Bridge in North Aceh Regency.

When completed, this bridge is expected to facilitate community mobility, logistics distribution, and normalize economic activity in the affected areas.
