Uncovered! Security Motive Strangled The Neck Of A Prostitute In Menteng To Death, Apparently Addicted To Online Gambling
JAKARTA - A security officer with the initials AA is suspected of killing a commercial sex worker (PSK) at a hotel in Menteng, Central Jakarta, last Wednesday, May 26.
"The motive is because the suspect has debt due to online gambling addiction," explained the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Teuku Arsya to the press in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, May 30.
He explained that the suspect was trying to take the victim's valuables, a prostitute with the initials IW (31). However, the incident culminated in a murder.
Arsya explained, initially AA looked for a date on the Michat application with the aim of stealing the goods of women who offer sex services at hotels.
AA intended to take the victim's belongings when he was going to the bathroom and cleaning. The price for a single date for a sex worker is Rp. 500 thousand. Meanwhile, the suspect only had Rp. 250,000 in cash.
AA also thought of killing the victim. From the results of the investigation, AA committed violence against the victim by strangling the victim's neck twice.
"First it was done by pressing the victim's body, then using force on the neck, it turned out that when the victim was still breathing, it was repeated again until the victim was not breathing and hit the victim's face twice," said Arsya
After confirming the death toll, AA took IW's valuables in the form of a cell phone and some money.
Previously, the suspect had committed other crimes, namely snatching cell phones three times in the Munjul, East Jakarta, Cipayung and Condet areas.
From the three actions, AA sold the proceeds of the robbery and got a total of Rp. 1.85 million in cash which was spent playing online gambling.
As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with multiple articles, namely Article 340 of the Criminal Code on premeditated murder, Article 338 of the Criminal Code and Article 365 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with violence.
