Pekalongan flood, 23 train trips canceled

JAKARTA - PT KAI has canceled 23 train trips (KA) that pass through the Daop 4 Semarang area in the Central Java hinterland following the flood that is still flooding the rail line between Pekalongan Station and Sragi Station, Monday, January 19.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Luqman Arif said the condition of the flood was below the head of the rail.

However, he said, the journey of a number of trains followed safety considerations.

A number of trains whose journeys are still canceled include the Argo Brono Anggrek train. Arho Merbabu train, Ciremai train, Menoreh train. Kamandaka train, Tegal Bahari train. Kaligung train, Argo Muria train, Argo Merbabu train, Sembrani train, Ambarawa Express train, and Tawangjaya train.

According to the two, PT KAI continues to make various efforts to accelerate the normalization of the line so that train travel can gradually resume.

"PT KAI apologizes for the disruption of the travel plans of prospective passengers," he said, quoted by Antara.

He ensured the return of 100 percent of the cost of purchasing train tickets that were canceled.

Meanwhile, with the flood conditions receding, he said, the railway line between Pekalongan Station and Sragi Station could be passed at a limited speed of 10 km per hour.

He said that although the line could be used in a limited way, a number of train trips still had to adjust their operating patterns until the infrastructure conditions were declared safe.

Previously, the train line in Central Java Pantura was cut off since Sunday, January 19, following the flood that hit the Pekalongan area.

Floods inundated the railway line between Pekalongan Station and Sragi Station.
