Chery Group officially closed 2025 with impressive performance records. The Chinese automotive manufacturer recorded December 2025 sales of 244,928 units, while total sales throughout the year reached 2,806,393 units or an increase of 7.8 percent compared to the previous year.
Of the total, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. recorded sales of 2,631,381 units with an annual growth of 8 percent. Chery called 2025 the "Four Historic Breakthroughs" period.
The four new records are the highest achievements in terms of total sales, exports, new energy vehicles (NEV), and product quality. With this achievement, Chery's global consumer base has now increased to 18.53 million users.
In its official statement on Monday, January 19, Chery recorded a large spike in exports in December 2025 with 144,430 units. This means an increase of 46.8 percent year-on-year and for the first time breaking through 140 thousand units in a month.
Cumulatively throughout 2025, exports reached 1,344,020 units or increased by 17.4 percent compared to the previous year. Chery's total exports have now reached 5.85 million units, while recording three records for Chinese automotive manufacturers, monthly, annual, and cumulative exports.
Chery also maintained its status as China's largest passenger car exporter for 23 consecutive years. The performance of sales of new energy vehicles also showed a strong trend.
Throughout 2025, Chery's NEV sales reached 903,847 units, jumping 54.9 percent from the previous year. Chery assessed that the scale of production and the growth rate of its NEVs remained at the forefront of the industry.
In Indonesia, Chery's sales are said to continue to strengthen in line with product and service strategies that are increasingly in line with market needs. Based on GAIKINDO data, Chery's retail sales throughout 2025 jumped 126 percent compared to the previous year, while wholesale sales increased 111 percent.
This growth reflects the increasing market confidence as well as the strengthening of the distribution network in the country. Chery also highlighted the improvement of product quality as one of the important breakthroughs.
The company won the "China Quality Award Nomination" award and recorded strong results in the J.D. Power assessment. Chery ranked first among domestic brands in five major categories, from the Initial Quality Study (IQS) to the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), which made it the only domestic brand with the achievement of "five crowns".
In addition, as many as 60 Chery models have bagged a five-star safety rating globally, the highest among Chinese automakers. This achievement is driven by Chery's development strategy in five main lines, including new fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles, new global expansion, new business lines, and new technologies.
In the "fuel-electric synergy" strategy, Chery expands its product portfolio to reach a wider range of user needs. Through the "New Fuel" approach, Chery launched the latest generation of TIGGO and HIMLA with driving experience and smart features that increasingly resemble electric vehicles, including conventional engine models.
On the new energy vehicle side, Chery said that more than 90 percent of the new products launched throughout 2025 were NEVs. Models such as the TIGGO 7 CSH and TIGGO 8 CSH are claimed to have recorded strong sales performance and also strengthened Chery's position in the top ranks of the NEV industry.
For global expansion, Chery is accelerating its penetration into high-regulated markets, including Europe. The company said it had entered 15 countries in the region, such as the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy.
In addition to the automotive business, Chery is also developing a "second growth curve" based on user ecosystems, covering spare parts, financing, software subscriptions, to green energy. The company is also preparing a "third growth curve" based on core technologies such as robotaxis and humanoid robots.
Throughout 2025, Chery claims to have introduced more than 10 world-leading technologies to strengthen its technology portfolio, and in the future plans to hold an AI Night to showcase its latest strategies and breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence.
These various achievements have also contributed to strengthening the value of the Chery brand globally. Currently, Chery's business has reached more than 120 countries and regions with a global user base of 18.53 million, including 5.85 million overseas users.
Looking ahead to 2026, Chery reiterated its commitment to high-quality growth with an annual sales growth target that exceeds the industry average by 10 to 20 percentage points.
