Still Sick, Richard Lee Again Failed to be Examined at Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations (Kabid) of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said that the follow-up examination of the suspect in the alleged consumer protection violation case, doctor Richard Lee, was not carried out for health reasons.

Budi explained that the examination was originally scheduled to be held at the Polda Metro Jaya on Monday, January 19, 2026. However, Richard Lee's party applied for a postponement because his health condition was not yet allowing him to undergo an examination as a suspect.

"Because his condition is still not fit. Later we will update again," said Budi when contacted by the media, Monday, January 19, 2026.

According to Budi, Richard Lee's absence was known after he coordinated with investigators handling the case.

"From the information from the investigators, the person concerned asked for a postponement of the examination," he said.

It is known that this case began with a report from a consumer with the initials dr. AF who bought a number of branded beauty products owned by Richard Lee through several marketplaces in October to November 2024. The products purchased include White Tomato, DNA Salmon, and Miss V Stem Cell by Athena Group with prices ranging from hundreds of thousands to more than Rp. 1 million.

After being received, the products were suspected to have problems, ranging from content that did not match the label, the condition of the product that was not sterile, to packaging that was suspected to be the result of repacking.

Based on the results of the investigation and the title of the case, the Polda Metro Jaya named Richard Lee as a suspect in the case of alleged consumer protection violations on December 15, 2025.
