JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) confirmed that the flooding that had occurred in several areas in the capital had receded, on Monday, January 19 morning.
"We note that as of Monday morning at 07.00 WIB, all puddles in DKI Jakarta have receded," said Head of the Data and Information Center for Disasters of the DKI Jakarta Provincial BPBD, Mohamad Yohan, in his statement, Monday morning.
According to him, the flood that had flooded 48 RTs and 29 roads on Sunday, January 18 afternoon, has now been confirmed to have receded.
Yohan explained that the flooding in Jakarta itself occurred due to heavy rain that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings on Sunday which caused flooding.
He added that flood handling was carried out jointly by related local government organizations (OPD) such as BPBD, the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Gulkarmat, the Department of Road Construction, the Department of Environment, Satpol PP and the Kelurahan PPSU which had deployed its personnel.
In addition, supporting equipment such as portable pumps in draining puddles and ensuring that the water ropes function properly is also carried out.
"The role of community elements is also involved in this effort, such as RT/RW, FKDM, and other community leaders," he said.
